primer bleeding???

Hello all,

I'm bussy painting some doors there has never been anything on it they are still raw looking, I have primed them but there is yellow tinge coming thru, then I primed them for the second time and still, will this bleeding ever stop, what If I painted them with a dark brown/taupe color would that hide the bleeding?

Thanks
Friesian.

use a primer sealer like Bullseye 123 from Zinsser available at the depot. Use the 123 and tint it toward the final color

the most likely cause of bleeding is the wrong primer. If you used a latex primer the oils or tannins in the wood will bleed [water stains also] A dark color will only hide it if the paint stays dark[it camoflagues not covers] If you top coat with an oil base paint the stains will not bleed through otherwise you need to use a oil base primer. Kilz works well.

Yep, especially if they are pine, sap, and tannins can be a real problem.
