Looking for (electrical] outlet covers!
#1

I really enjoy reading things from the forums here!!
I am looking for plastic covers for you light switches and outlets you use before you paint. I saw them on television and I cant remember where. They struck me as being a great time saver, I HATE taping them!! Does anyone know the website or name?
Cheers,
Sandy

I always prefer to take the covers off before painting. It is easier, makes for a better looking job and you don't run the risk of the edges of the cover being stuck to the wall. I always reinsert the screws in the recepticle so they don't get loss. If you are still worried that you might get paint on them just stick a little tape on the switch or plug in and paint away. I know this doesn't exactly answer your question but I hope it will make painting easier for you anyway.

I, too, recommend removing the covers before painting. And yes, put the screws back where they came from to keep them from getting lost. This makes for a much cleaner and neater job. An errant roller will get paint on the outlets or switch, so a bit of tape will keep them clean.

I found the plastic covers you mention at a True Value hardware. However, they were completely useless and I ended up throwing the whole box away. Removing the covers was much easier than trying to figure out how to use the plastic thingies.
