Cool Painting aluminum siding

Hi, can anyone out there help me? I am interested in painting my aluminum siding. It has already been painted once, many years ago. Can you tell me the steps I need to take to do this, i.e., powerwash first? primer needed? a special kind of paint?

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me.

Painting alum is fairly simple. Make sure the surface is clean and free of chaulk. Since it has been painted once before make sure that all the paint is well bonded to the alum. Sand off any that isn't. They do have paints specially formulated for metal but most any quality exterior latex will preform well. No primer is needed. If you have a chaulk problem and can't remove it all add emulsa bond to the paint.
