I have a few paint questions..like i've said in my other posts..we are buying a house...For some of the darker rooms I know a Primer will be needed...But if a wall is already white does it need to be primed still..I think it has a flat/matte type paint on it....But How long Does it take for the paint to dry? Do you wait for each coat to dry before you put on the next one?About how long would it take in like a 11 by 13 room for everything to dry? We'll be using Behr paint...even though its not popular on here.but i've used it before and had no problems wiht it.

 

Nah, just make sure its clean and free of dirt/dust.
It can take anywhere from 1 hour to overnight. Always let the first coat dry thoroughly, or you run the chance of re-wetting it with the second coat, and it will lift off.
Can't tell, it depends on the porosity of the substrate, the temperature, humidity, thickness of coat, etc. Under normal conditions, after the room is completed, a latex will be ready to recoat in about 2 hours.

 

What PWG said, plus paints with a lot of pigment will take longer to dry.

 

there's an old saying popular among engineers: "when all else fails, try following directions."

in this case, your best source of information is often on the side of the paint can.
