Painting metal french doors

We recently purchased and installed metal french doors and need to paint them to match the house trim. Can you give some suggestions on what method would be best so as not to be left with brush marks, but with a smooth finish. Should we brush, roll, rent sprayer, thin paint, etc. Thanks for your help and any suggestions.

Spraying the metal would give the best finish, however with limited spraying skills it may be more hassle than its worth. Slightly thinned oil base enamel brushed with a china bristle brush can give a good finish with slightly visible brush marks. If it takes 2 coats be sure to sand between coats to minimize any brush marks. The doors can also be rollled [flat area] with a small roller which will elimanate any brush marks but will leave an orange peel finish.
