Exterior Stain Choice?

Nine or ten years ago, we stained our exterior cedar siding with Olympic solid color oil base stain. We are now ready to do it again. I read on the Olympic site that though thier oil base is good for bare wood, "When recoating or where additional coats are required, use Olympic Latex Stains". So, is it better to use a latex solid stain in my case?

You should be able to recoat with either latex or oil. If Olympic recomends recoating with latex stain I would follow their recomendation. Latex stain is usually cheaper than its oil counterpart and is easier to use. In some climates latex will hold its color better than oil will.
