Help- sticky wall!

I just spent hours today scrubbing my living room walls. One wall was wallpapered. I used wallpaper remover and scraped off all the paper yesterday. Today I had to use a kitchen scrubber and TSP to get the rest of the wallpaper paste off.
I cleaned the other walls with TSP as well, and they look and feel clean and ready to paint, but the wallpaper wall feels kind of "sticky" If I use my fingernail I can't scrape off any paste, so I don't know what is causing this sticky feeling.

Any suggestions for what I should do before painting? This is wall has a 16 foot vaulted ceiling so I REALLY want this paint job to work out well. I don't plan to paint this room again for a LONG time...if ever!

thanks in advance!

Sounds like it's time to prime

"GARDZ is recommended for: damaged drywall, new drywall, spackling and joint compound skim coats, plaster, calcimine, uncoated wallpaper, wallcovering adhesive residue, texture paint, popcorn ceilings and builder's flat paint."

I can highly recommend it

This is the answer I wanted! Yes-no more scrubbing on a ladder 14 feet in the air

Could you tell me if this is a latex primer? Do I need to get this brand or will I find something that will do the job if I ask for a specific type of primer?

Thank you so much for your help!

It is latex
And I would recommend this specific product as opposed to a similar one, if a similar one could be found
There's nothing quite like it out there

If I was not able to get this product, I suppose I might try Ben Moore's Fresh Start, but notice I said suppose and try

BM's FS is great, great stuff, and I use it
But Z's Gardz is literally made for your situation

Gardz is the only product I would use, slickshift and I agree.
