Painting the walls

Is there anything "special" I need to do to the walls if I want to paint them? It looks like there is some kind of a vinyl wallpaper on them. It's the same paper/color in every room. Betty

MH drywall is different than regular drywall. The vinyl 'wallpaper' can't be removed as it is the face of the gypsum. It should be primed with a solvent based primer prior to painting. This will insure that the paint will bond to the vinyl.
