exterior painting question

i just repaired some rotted out clapboard siding with some "bondo" plastic auto body putty. Yeah! thats right,"Bondo". Came out well,now i have to prime and paint to match the clapboards.
What do i use to prime the bondo and surrounding clapboard ? Finish coat?

Nothing wrong with using bondo to patch the siding.

Use an exterior oil base wood primer to prime the bondo and any raw wood. The top coat should be similiar to what is on the rest of the siding.

Depends on what you like. Flat will help to hide imperfections [not saying you have any

] while a gloss may tend to highlight them.

Most exterior paints come in flat, satin and gloss.

does the choice of flat, satin or semi gloss affect dirt attraction or mildew? I thought I heard it did but can't remember where so i don't know how reliable that is

Kinda, but that's more of an issue with interior paints
Most exterior paints have mildecide

moulding gaps

I'm repainting my second floor hallway and have an issue with the door moulding. The miter cuts were done well but there are 3/16" gaps between the wall and moulding in some areas. I can see this was because the door jambs weren't centered and the wall protrudes on one side and in on the other. I'd hate to have to pull this moulding down and recenter the jambs. That's alot of work. Is 3/16" too much of a gap to fill with painters caulk?? Like I said I really don't want to turn this into a major project but I will if the caulk will look bad in such a large gap. thanks

Not sure if this is the right forum but I was wondering if there are any tricks to handling big ladders. I have a 32 ft 250 lbs rated extension ladder. I can just barely handle it by myself when its not extended at all. Once I start extending it I definitely need some help.
