new skim coat plaster
Hi,
Have a room with new skim coat plaster, Was thinking of not painting the ceiling and painting the walls, Can i just go in with typical good grade primer and then good paint or is there something special that i need to do? is it ok not to treat the ceiling?
thanks!!

It has been a long time since I painted any new plaster but there is a waiting/cure period before it should be painted. A paint store should have test strips you can stick on the plaster to see if it is ready.
Good primer and paint should work fine. I assume you want to know if you can skip the primer on the ceiling - while not recomended, if you were to skip priming, that would be about the only place to do so. Flat white ceiling paint along with a good application procedure should cover the ceiling ok with 1 coat.
