wrong caulking and can't paint over
I by mistake used silicone caulking to seal some cracks in the wood molding around my windows - on the interior. I know now you cannot paint over this. I should have used latex caulking. Also, the sticky tape for the plastic window sheets used to keep air leaks out won't stick.
What can I do so paint and tape will stick?

Remove the caulk and use the proper type
I have been able to paint silicone caulk by wiping it with rubbing alcohol and put a few coats of pigmented shellac over it, then top coating with a few coats of the appropriate paint
There's no way I'd say that tape could stick to that and not remove some/all paint or shellac though
It's tough enough to get color to stick to that stuff (non-paintable caulk), adding tape...well...I suppose there's a chance it might work
I wouldn't bet money on it though
