Unhappy paint on a popcorn ceiling

My husband and I just purchased our first house and the previous owner painted the living room pink (resembles pepto bismal). They didn't do a very good job and there are pink paint splotches all the way around the room on the popcorn ceiling. Is there anyway to get these splotches off other than painting the whole ceiling to cover them up? Would it be possible to lightly sand them or would the 'popcorn' have absorbed the color all the way through. We don't have the time to properly paint the entire ceiling before we have to move in. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry kritty9, there's no way to remove them
You could try and spot paint ceiling white over them
But usually, really, to make it look right, it's best to re-paint the ceiling

Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for responding...I was hoping there would be a simple fix that didn't involve painting the whole ceilng.

Sorry...if they are really pink, you may even want to spot prime the areas, just to make sure it doesn't show through
If it's just a little, or it's a dull pink, then a good quality ceiling paint should cover it OK
