blue tape peels paint off
I am painting my basement and I decided to use more than one color , so I used blue tape on the corners that separate walls of different colors, now when I pull the tape, it peels off the paint or the primer. I have been using a product called Valspar from Lowes, and the paint had enough time to dry.
The way I was applying the tape is pressing it firmly against the wall with a spatula.
Any suggestions why this frustrating thing happened.

Yes
You probably shouldn't be using tape in this instance
I'm assuming the tape is going on walls that you recently painted
The (relatively fresh and uncured) Valspar can't compete with the spatula driven tape
Also using the tape improperly-using it to cut your lines for you and goobing the paint on over the tape-will allow the paint to leach under the tape and further (or cause) this problem
Check out ProWallGuy's sticky on using tape at the top of the painting forum
