California Or Benjamin Moore ?
Hi,
Am hoping someone here might have some first hand experience, or strong opinions on this.
Have to select a Latex paint for our new, pre-primed (oil) Cedar Clapboards.
Consumers Reports in their latest issue seems to like California Fresh-Coat the best. But our contractor says their 2010 series is much better.
CR doesn't seem to think so.
Also, compared to Benjamin Moore, which CR didn't rate at all, how do the above two stack up ? I guess Benjamin Moore's best paint is their: MoorGard. True ?
So, of the 3, which would you pick if cost is Not a factor ?
Why, please ?
Much thanks,
Bob

I don't use a lot of BM paint but I trust their top of the line coatings. I've never used any california paint. I mostly use SWP. I also don't trusts CR's evaluation of paints because they often go against what I [as a pro] know for fact.
IMO the best way to choose between the 2 would be to talk with neighbors and friends who have used either coating and find out what their real life experiences have been.
