Siding question
I've got a 3000 square foot house with double attached garage. The house has original 1981 aluminum siding. The siding is is good shape but could use a paint job. I have a compressor and paint gun (never used). Do you think I should attempt to paint or not? What to Do.

Older aluminum siding needs and is painted all the time. Proper prep is crucial for the new paint job to last. The 'factory' paint deteriates with time leaving a chalky film on the the siding - this must be washed off. Often it isn't feasable to remove 100% of the chalk so it is best to add emulsa bond to the first coat of latex paint.
An air powered cup gun isn't suited for spraying latex paint and even if you used oil base it would be slow going with too much overspray. The best way to paint alum siding is with an airless - they can be rented. Decent results can also be had using a quality brush.
Only you can decide whether to diy or hire it out
