Bathroom paint problems

I just recently moved to a new house. I removed some wallpaper border from on top of a glaze finish. Well the paint under the border pulled off in places and I need to repaint it. Is there an easy way fix the areas where the paint peeled off clear to the drywall. Or do I need to try and remove all the paint in the room??? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums Jennifer!

No need to remove all the paint. Just spackle, sand and prime the affected areas.

Thank you I will try that. I am pretty sure that the PO did not prime any of the walls before painting them!!

As a side note, if the removal of the border damaged the drywall facing paper, you will need to coat the damaged patches with Zinsser Gardz before mudding. The Gardz will keep the water in the compound (and paint) from seeping through to the sheetrock and causing it to swell. Gardz will also hold down the little paper "hairs" that stick up out of damaged facing paper.

If the paint peeled cleanly off of the paper, you don't need to worry.
