painting/staining an older wooden fence
I have an NON-pressure treated fence that is about three years old and has never been stained or painted. I would prefer to stain it, but since it has been weathered for a few years I am not sure that it will come out right. If someone has any experience/knowledge with staining an old fence please let me know. Otherwise I will have to paint it (staining looks so much better painting but I don’t know if it will after all these years). Please help!
Thanks

Cleaning the wood with a deck cleaner or a bleach/water solution should bring the natural color back. Rinse well! If for some reason it doesn't clean to your satisfaction use a solid stain instead of paint.

Ah...that's easy
Treat the wood with Cabot's Problem Solvers
Using a pump sprayer, spray the Wood Cleaner as directed
Then power wash off (a strong stream from a hose will work also, but a PWer works better)
Then do the same with the Wood Brightener
Let dry for a few days (less if in sun, more if shady/cloudy/damp)
Then stain
