what type paint for plastic
I have a houseboat that has a lot of rope lighting outside ,the plastic track that holds the lighting has turned yellow i want to paint it white what type paint should i use.

The only paint I have ever seen or heard of that specifically works for plastic is a line of spray paint by Krylon called "Fusion".
Also you might try hobby or craft stores for alternatives.
Note that unless a paint does actually say it will adhere to plastic....it probably will not and I wouldn't try it.

You might try talking to your local paint store rep and see what they recomend.
I've had success painting the plastic mullions on metal doors with both latex and oil base paint but conditions on a boat might be more severe so I'd stop short of recomending what I've used.

As long as you inderstand that being on a boat, any product that is not designed for such exposure will probably fail, I would recommend priming it with UMA from XIM and then a good 100% acrylic exterior semi-gloss.
if you want something that will hold up very well, contact either your local paint store that carries industrial products or contact a marina to see what they have.
