'Pickling' Bedroom Set

I'm thinking about pickling my bedroom furniture and wondering since it is such a dark color if this will work. It's a VERY dark walnut color and seems most of the pieces I see are lighter in color. Will the white flat paint or primer like suggested at this site work? Any advice welcome. Just need to do a little sprucing up wiithout having to buy new furniture.

Thanks!

You will need to remove all the finish on it to then pickle it
I'd suggest dropping it off at a strippers
It's not a quick, easy, neat, or VOC friendly DIY job...and may not actually be DIY possible in the end
