Texture Paint Question

I'm painting a room approx. 11 X 12. I bought 2 gallons of paint and a box of texture for 2 gallons. I know I'm going to have to put a second coat of paint on the walls as I do in every other room. My question is, should I paint the room first with just paint without the texture mixed in, sort of a base coat or should I just put 2 coats of texture on it?
Thanks.
Joe

Painting 'just paint' first coat with the texture in the second coat will give you the look in the sample.

Texture in BOTH coats will produce more texture - the first coat will be subdued, the second as pictured in your sample.

Texture in first coat only will result in a subdued texture from the sample you were provide.
