Aura paint and the right roller

I recently did a job and in one room and I used a $12 wooster lambskin 1/2" roller with BM aura paint. In the other room I used the $5 3/8" BM Aura roller that the BM store said I must use. I have to say I liked how the Aura roller left a nice flat finish which looked better than the wooster which was fine and flat also, but just not as nice.

So my question ... what roller is best for the Aura paint?

I have noticed the same thing
The thing to keep in mind with Aura is, it's truly a new product from the molecule up
So, as time goes by and usage goes up, we'll find the best tools to us to use with it

So far, I have found the same thing you have
My trusty old "exotic" roller sleeves with wool, that work so well with other premium paints, simply don't work well with the Aura

So far, I haven't found too much of a difference between the Aura roller and the White Doves (which I like using)

50/50s didn't work well

In the Wooster Brush Companies testing they found the Pro Dooz cover outperformed the Aura in pick-up and release, and the Ben Moore Shed Resistant and Super Dooz (same cover) did even better
The Pro Dooz left the smoothest finish
I haven't tried all these for a personal opinion

I've used the Wooster and Aura covers and though it's close, the Aura cover has a slight edge but for the very best finish, try the BM microfiber cover - it looks like you sprayed it on. Trade off is that it doesn't hold as much paint as 3/8" Wooster/BM cover.

Not as much as a 3/8?!

I'll have to give it a try
(Though I haven't seen that cover around here...I'll ask for it)
It's hard enough for me to downgrade to a 3/8 already-I usually use a 1/2-but it might be worth it, at least on certain jobs, if it is that much smoother
