Painting bathroom, have some mold.....

I have a tub surround. Between the top of the surround and the ceiling, which is about two feet, there is a little mold on the wall, the kids don't always use the exhaust fan. I want to re-paint the bathroom and put a piece of that fake tile paneling around the top of the tub surround. Before I stick the paneling up with liquid nails, should I paint the walls above the surround with something first? I have green board in the bathroom, but wasn't sure if moisture would get behind the paneling I'm going to put up.

Wash the mold off with a bleach solution - you don't want to trap it between the 2 surfaces to grow sight unseen

After I wash the wall, should I paint above the top of the surround with some kind of primer or sealer before I put the paneling up?

Sherwin Williams has a bath paint I have yet to see fail in ten years. It is mildew proof as far as I have seen in this time. I believe you will be ok with two coats of this "Bath Paint" and no covering over it. You do need to wash above this area with bleach and scuff sand the surface before painting.
