where 2 walls meet

Ive run into this problem a few times..the metal that shows through the corner where 2 walls meet, ive tried adding compund..but it then looks like..i tried to fix it..and ill sand more and get the metal again..

I paint many coats on these, particularly at scuff-level. With kids, a dozen coats plus touch-up every few months may be necessary!

The edge of the corner bead is meant to be painted not cover with j/c. J/c would pop off every time it was bumped real good - paint will just wear off.

I just posted this in the wrong forum, so am resubmitting it to this form. Two years ago, purchased this house which was built in 1955. It has formica countertops and they also put formica from the countertop to the bottom of upper cabinets. We ordered new countertop (LG Hi-Macs). I had to remove the old countertop for them to do the template. I also removed the formica behind the countertops so I could just paint that area. Problem after I sanded (Many times...) where I took the formica off, the wall is all pitted. Even after I painted it, you can still see them. What can I spread over this area and sand to make all smooth and then paint??Read More
