Painting enamel over flat?

I painted my exterior front door with a flat latex, and am not happy with it. Can I sand it a bit and paint over--same color--wiht a more durable paint? Suggestions?

Yes, just a simple scuff-sand, and you should be ready to go. Ask a paint store for an appropriate enamel to use on an exterior door.

Agreed!! Flat paint is often used as an intermediary coat between the primer and the gloss finish.

No problem. Paint the door with gloss or semi gloss latex paint. You must do two coats over flat.
