Repainting dressers?

The wife and I just moved. We have these dressers that are a matching set. She wants to paint them. They aren't very fancy, they're just made of OSB with a veneer on top. They are an off white color. She wants to paint them white. They don't need to look like a million bucks, she just wants them to be white. Do I need a primer or can I just paint right over them?

You should use a primer, a pigmented shellac like zinnser's BIN would be best. Prior to priming, make sure any wax/polish is removed and give it a light scuff sanding.

Finish with 2 coats of enamel - latex, waterborne or oil base. Waterborne or oil base will wear better although oil base whites tend to yellow over time.
