How soon can I paint after skim coat

Have one small bathroom. If I start early can I skim coat and prime the same day?

If your skim coat is real shallow, you can prime and paint the same day. However, if there are spots where it is thick because it was filling divots or doing some serious leveling, you will need to wait 24hrs for the J/C to dry.

You should be able to look at the j/c and tell if it's dry - any dark areas will still be too wet for primer.

Painting our new home. The only thing on the wall is builder paint (flat). We coated one coat primer and two coats paint, both acrylic latex Benjamin Moore. Our living room dining room is perfect. But when I started applying primer to the family room there was an immediate bubbling. I wiped it with a cloth and the primer and original builder paint came right off (right down to the drywall). What is happening and why only on this wall? It is almost like the primer is dissolving the Builder paint?Read More

OK noob question, I picked up my exterior latex paint and oil primer. Am I able to pick up the paint and just shake it prior to use or does it need to be stirred. I ask because I have 2 - 5 gallon buckets of the latex paint and stirring it I imagine would be difficult. Thanks!Read More
