Painting ABS Pipe

I am painting the exterior of my home, and it currently has the round, galvanized steel downspouts, which most are peeling and rusting. I am planning on replacing all of them and I am toying with the idea of going with the ABS drain pipe instead of the steel pipe, but I'm not sure how well the ABS will take and hold the paint. I haven't seen this style downspouts in vinyl like the rectangular downspouts.

Has anyone ever done this or have any experience with it?

Thanks...Randy

Latex paint sticks good if you either add emulsa bond to the first coat of paint or wipe it down with a liquid deglosser first.

Ahhh, the infamous emulsa bond additive again.

Well, I'll give it a go and see how it does.

Thanks Mark.
