Can Paint Oil Based over Latex?
Hi:
There is a small-sized patio in my backyard. Now I want to paint 'oil-based' paint over latex/water-based which I did about five years ago.
Just wonder whether I can paint 'Oil-Based Paint'/bright white over semi-glossed/white?
Thanks for help in advance.

Yes but it isn't always a good idea. Oil base can go over latex on the interior with rarely any issues but on the exterior it's usually better to stick with the original coating although latex will usually adhere to weathered oil base.
The only problem with applying oil base over sound latex on the exterior is the latex is a little bit plyable while the oil base dries hard - if the latex flexes any, the oil is subject to crack or pop off.
