When I painted my exterior door with latex paint I had a problem with the paint sticking to the weather stripping at the door stops. I let the door dry for several days and then used waxed paper to seperate the paint from the weather stripping. The paint still stuck and eventually peeled. In Florida we are told that the best paint to use is acrylic latex. What type of paint do you recommend?
I would also like to know what type of door is the most sound proof? We went from a wood door to an insulated fiberglass door and was surprised at the sound that carried through the door. Is a steel door as noisy?

A steel door is filled with styrofoam and should insulate better than a solid wood door. I don't know about sound transmission
What brand and type of latex paint are you using? Latex enamels dry fairly quick but they are slow to cure and some of the cheaper latex paints never cure to a hard film - meaning they may always be prone to stick
About the only thing you can do is sand down the bad areas and repaint them. I know it isn't always practical to leave the door open for extended periods. Do you have the removalble type weather stripping?
