Will a black stain eventually disappear with enough paint?
I want to apply a faux marble finish to the top of an old washstand/chest, but a black stain keeps peering through my paint. The washstand/chest was given to me, so I don't know what the stain is. As the base coat, I have applied 2 coats of Olympic Premium, interior latex satin in an eggshell color. Will it cover if I apply more paint? If not, how do I get the stain out of there?

I think you'll stop the bleed through if you apply a stain blocking oil base or possibly shellac based primer first.
You can then apply the base paint over that.
Zinsser makes very good versions of these.Most lines have an oil base version.Shellac base primer is used for the most difficult situations.

If the paint bonded well to the surface you should be able to prime over it with no problems.You might want to scuff sand to lower the gloss though I'm not sure you really have to.Make sure it is clean.

If the stain is small, get a spray can of Kilz Original. If that doesn't work Zinsser BIN will kill that stain no matter what it is... just apply it in a room with LOTS of ventilation or wear a cartridge respirator; it's really nasty stuff.
No need to strip what you have now.
Afterwards, topcoat with better paint. That Olympic (that I am guessing you got from Lowes) is not very good paint. Get your paints from an actual paint store instead of BigBoxCo, and you will have much better results.
The Waterbourne enamels from Sherwin (ProClassic) or Ben Moore (Impervo) will form a much more durable surface for a table top than the wall paint you are using now.
