Latex paint vs latex stain
#1
I would like some feedback about the differences between latex paint and latex stain. To be used on the outside of a new house. Pine trim and pine clapboards probably white.

Latex Paint and latex Solid stain are basicly the same in terms of most of the ingredients are the same, there may be some differences in some of the resins and the grind, but overall the same. Many brands use the same product and put two different labels to sell to the customer. Here is the Major difference...... Actual Latex stains are thinner in viscosity and designed to penetrate deeper into a subsrate to give you a textureed rustic look, while latex paint will have more body to it and sit on the surface to give you a smoother look, in terms of durability....... not much different. Latex stain is less likely to peel, it just weathers off, But reality is that if paint is peeling it is not bad paint, something else is going on.
