Question

Just moved into a new older home that has plenty of Tin Ceiling Tiles. They have been painted white and are peeling. I would like to restore them to their original state. Any ideas??
Thanks alot.

You may want to remove as much of the peeling paint as possible and feather sand all the edges smooth. as far as finish I would suggest you go to a professional paint store and ask for alkyd flat dryfall finish. This product will have to be sprayed on to give you the best look but it will bond ok versus a latex. Also if you apply a latex over metal like tin you could run into a flash rusting problem. If you want the victorian look I would suggest you look for a low sheen alkyd trim enamel for your tin ceiling instead.
