Question

I cleaned our bathroom walls with TSP and put two coats of paint on them last summer. We have had yellowish stains running down the walls for the past 6 mo. or so. What is it, what would be the best/easiest way to get it off (it does wash off) and how can I prevent it from reoccurring? The bathroom is vented quite well (one window and a ceiling fan that gets used when the boys remember to turn it on!) so I'm not sure if it's a "sweat" problem.

In my opinion those are from lack of ventilation and can be wiped off with warm water, providing there is a sheen to the paint.

Use TSP to clean the marks off.
