I bought a house that has leaded glass doors. They've been painted before, but could really use a fresh coat of paint. Planned to take them off the hinges to paint. After masking glass and vinyl trim, will spray paint with primer then paint. What I need to know is, can I paint the vinyl trim that goes around the leaded glass. It wasn't painted before and am getting different info from many different sources? Can I use an acrylic latex? Will I need to prime? Was told I need to allow for expansion and contraction of vinyl with temperature changes. HELP!!!

Use 100% acrylic latex primer.Zinsser 123,KILZ Total One or KILZ 2 would all work.If the trim is very shiny break the gloss up with 220 grit sandpaper.
