I'm planning on painting the trim on my house (it is vinyl sided). Several questions
- What is the best way to scrap the existing paint? Type of scraper? Type of chemical paint remover? Thick stuff or liquidy?
- What is the best type of paint to use (white)? Oil based, latex???
Thanks in advance!

I use a 2 1/2" paint scraper and keep a file handy to keep it sharp. I wouldn't use a liquid paint remover where it could drip on the vinyl. If you do, use the creamy trpe - the liquid will run off vertical surfaces.

Prime the trim with a good quality oil primer and then apply ywo coats of quality latex paint.

Why not power wash the trim first - It might save a lot of scraping and it will get rid of all the dirt, grime and mildew.
