In a bathroom with drywall damaged by wallpaper removal do I prime before retexturing then prime again after texturing before painting? Oil or latex primer and why? Thanks.

maryannee, You would need to lock the walls down with an oil based primer. The reason for the oil is to seal the drywall and also stainkill any glue that may remain. Wallpaper glue will bleed through your texture and the paint. Prime the texture with a primer such as KILZ 2, KILZ Total One or Zinnser 123. Topcoat with any paint you would like. I know 3 cans of paint sounds like a lot of material but we don't want do this but once do we?........Mike
