Paint a tub surround?

Not sure if this is the proper place for this question.

I would like to repaint the fiberglass surround around the bathtub/shower. It is in good condition, only way outdated with some purple stripes going across the middle. The rest is white.

Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance...

I'm not sure painting the surround would be a good idea. It shouldn't be too hard to get a paint that will adhere to the fiberglass [providing it's clean] but getting a coating that will hold up to the harsh environment of a shower is the hard part.

We'll see what other have to say

If nothing else, check out automotive spraypaints. It would have to sanded, tack clothed, primed, light sand, tack cloth, build a color coat with light coats, clear coated.
But really anything on a tub that isn't gel-coated fiberglass may just look like a painted bathtub. .
I'm sure its possible with proper materials.
I would suggest marine hull paint, but that's both expensive and process intensive.

Hey! Don't they make shower curtains with green polka dots?

They make a specific paint used for showers and bathtubs. I saw it at Menards and was thinking about using it on our bathtub. I know it is very important get the area super clean.

They make a tile/tub paint but it has a high diy failure rate I don't know that it would be appropriate for fiberglass.
