Question

Is it better to clean walls before you sand or after? I have always cleaned walls with Dirtex after I have sanded woodwork and prepared walls for painting. This way I get all the dust off the walls and woodwork without vacuuming. Most articles I have read mention cleaning as the first step in prep work. What are the pros and cons, if any?

I am assuming you are re-painting. The reason the articles recomend that technic is because if you clean the walls last you may splash dirty water or leave a residue on the cleaned and sanded trim, if you don't do that then you should be fine, being sure the baseboards are cleaned and sanded last.

I would have to recomend the same as the articles and just use a broom (or vacuum) to knock any dust off the walls.
