Question Okay to thin Latex with Mineral Spirits?

I applied oil-based primer, cleaned the brush with mineral spirits. When I went to put on the latex top-coat I accidentaly grabbed the brush that had been cleaned with mineral spirits an hour earlier.

It probably still had quite a bit of mineral spirits in the brush. Is this going to affect my paint job?

How much thinner was still in the brush? if it was just paint thinner residue, there shouldn't be any problems. What were you painting?

I always use a china bristle brush for oil base coatings. They do a better job than the synthetic nylon or polyester brushes when using oil base. Since they can't be used with latex, I never have that problem

There was still a decent amount of thinner, but it wasn't dripping or anything. I was painting an exterior door.

As long as the paint on the door dried nicely you should be ok. I doubt that a small amount of thinner will do any more harm than affecting the sheen of the paint. If there are streaks or blotchiness in the paint job, sand lightly and recoat.
