Dried Stain In The Bucket

Just found the plastic 5 gallon pail I used 6 years ago to intermix the solid oil stain for my garage.

Stain is of course dried on the side and bottom.

Do I dare pour 4 gallons of stain (same color) in the bucket or will the old stuff soften up and I'll have 'skin' all over the place?

Thanks

Baldwin

If it's a plastic bucket, the stain might peel off - see what happens if you scrape it with a putty knife. Paint thinner might dissolve the dried stain, if it doesn't - you shouldn't have any problems reusing the bucket with new stain.
