Sherwin Williams - no mas!

I guess I won't be using SWP in the near future. I stopped in to get a couple of samples for a bathroom job and I was told they only do quarts (at more than $5 each) and that it's a low quality paint but the colors are true.

It would have cost nearly $20 for the samples I wanted. That kind of blows the advantage of providing color samples. If I put up the paint and the wife decides she doesn't like it and it's another $20 for more samples? Then add the $50 a gallon price of their BR paint . . .Nah!

Well...I hate painting...but the little squeeze packs of sample for the "designer" brands cost like $2.50 or something don't they? And a normal quart of custom mix is something like $10?

Did SW used to give small quantities of custom colors for free?

Sounds more like a wife problem...LOL...j/k!

Just take a handful of their free color cards. Cut out the color you want and tape about 50 of them to the wall.

I figured it out. I went to HD and picked a color. I got samples from HD at $2 each ( a few oz but enough) and put them on the wall. We picked the color and bought the paint at Sherwin Williams (SW Duration at $53 a gallon!). They color matched it perfectly.
