Help with trim paint quote

I'm wondering what to expect for the following. Crown molding and window trim has been installed and it's bare wood. Most rooms in a 3,000 square foot house. It needs to be caulked along the edges, have nail holes filled, primed and painted. I'm guessing about 700 feet of crown molding and about 250 feet of window trim. Would this be a per foot price, or by the job? Any ideas on the going rate for this kind of thing? I live in a Southeast medium city.

Hard to guess, best process is to have three or more contractors bid the job so you can compare.

Ya, you pretty much need to get several local bids to know the cost. Labor rates can vary a lot in different locales.

1 thing that should help keep the cost down is having the walls easily accessible for painter. The more stuff he has to move, the longer it will take him and his bid would likely reflect that. This type of job is bid generally on a job basis, not per foot.
