Painting Tile on a roll wallpaper

I have an old motorhome I am restoring and it has plastic wallpaper that looks like tiles, can I paint over this and if so what sort of paint should I use,

Welcome to the forums.

Almost always better to remove wall paper in a house than paint over it but I'm not sure how that translates to a motor home. Is the wallpaper well adhered?

Assuming the wallpaper is factory, I'd be leery of trying to strip it. I'd recommend applying a pigmented shellac primer [like Zinnser's BIN] Once dry it can be recoated with your choice of paint.
