Newly painted walls and now water stains after cleaning a bit

had my walls painted with glidden premium satin finish i beleive..and i had floor people come in and they left some marks on the walls so i went to wipe with a soft cloth and a little bit of water and now that water spot will not go away. its been 4 hours and the spot is still there..im hoping tomorrow it will go away but if not what in the world is going on? can i not wash my walls now? also its been over a week since the painting was finished.

thanks

You probably buffed a shiny spot on the satin finish. Generally, the higher the gloss the more washable the surface will be. So no, satin is probably not your most washable finish.

While satin enamel might not be as washable as a semi-gloss or gloss - it should still be washable..... that said, when it doesn't clean up well, you can touch it up with paint. The painter did leave you some leftover paint, right?
