How much paint...

I need to paint one entrance door, size 32 x 78 and the frame, inside and out. It has glass on the top half. Is one quart enough?

Should be enough. I assume it will just need one coat ??
Any special reason you are painting both sides of the door with the same paint? Interior enamels are generally a harder coating the exterior paints. Interior enamel should wear and clean better than the exterior paint.

Thanks Mark. Just one coat. It's a Home Depot door, already primed.
It's just a basement door. I thought I could just use a paint that's interior/exterior. No problem getting one for inside and one for outside tho, if you think that's a better idea.

Make sure you wash and rinse the door first. Often the new doors come with an oily film on them that makes it harder for the paint to stick.

Your call on using the exterior paint on both sides. If that door doesn't get a lot of traffic, the same paint on both sides should be ok.

Just a note....I'm not sure a qt would be enough....and 2 qts will probably cost more than a gallon...at least in my experience. I only buy qts for very small projects.

If I'm wrong...don't send me the leftover paint.

Well for some reason and not sure why, I ended up using only about a quarter of a quart of paint. Looks like a pint would have been enough.
I bought an interior/exterior paint at the hardware store.
It's not even used daily and it's one of those steel doors, so this paint was good enough. Needs a little touching up in a couple of places, otherwise looks good.

Sounds like you may have applied the paint a little thin. If that's the case, it might not touch up well.... but it shouldn't be too big of a deal to apply a 2nd coat
