We recently completed a bathroom in our home using 1/4" overlay stamped concrete polymer on the walls and the floor. Before we seal it we thought about adding some decoration - sort of like the cave men! Any ideas what type of paint we should use and whether we should seal the concrete polymer overlay before or after the art?

Thanks in anticipation.

Ideas: concrete acid stain (a permanent chemical process). Consult the manufacture or applicator about the suitability of the overlay for acid staining. Concrete stain (AKA: masonry stain) and possibly stencils. Thousands of choices! Seal afterward.

Windy Liz, The acid stain 2000 refers to would probably be your best bet for the look you want if you find it is suitable for your surface. If you go with concrete stain, H&C is the best I have found....Mike

Mike,
You mentioned H&C acid stain for concrete. Is that short for a particular brand? Thanks

Mike and Windy Liz,
I hope you don't mind.

Wendy, H&C is a stain (paint product) for concrete. Acid stain is entirely different. FLY, another member has posted a link to an acid staining tutorial. A search for "acid stain" with "FLY" should retrieve it. If not http://www.decorative-concrete.net/index.html is a starting point.

You know I don't mind 2000. It was I who sort of jumped in on a thread that you were handling. I just wanted Windy Liz to know about the best concrete stain if the acid stain wasn't used....Mike
