clean paint off door frame sides
I need to clean week old paint that got on my door frames. I tested with a damp rag and was and to scrub it off but I'm looking for a more efficient way to do this because I got alot of door frames to clean. Most of the paint that got on my frames is on the side of the frame adjacent to the wall so I have to also to be careful not to scrub off the paint on the walls if I'm using something harsh.
I'm thinking of using a toothbrush with water and dish soap.... any better ideas?
thanks

What kind of finish is on the door frames? What type of paint are you trying to remove? Are they splatters? or is it paint that was accidentally brushed/rolled onto the frames?
Products like 'goof off' and 'oops' will soften latex paint but won't harm oil base finishes. Sometimes taking the edge of a knife and carefully 'shaving' off the errant paint works well.

i used latex paint (flat and satin), not sure what finish is on the frames but they have an almost plastic like coating. the paint was rolled and brushed on the frames, not splattered.

Denatured Alcohol will take latex paint off. Apply to a rag and use a putty knife with the rag wrapped around it to scrape at the areas you want without taking paint off the walls.
