Question Best Way To Paint Unfinished 6 Panel Wood Door?

Hi,

I also need to paint my unfinished 6 panel wood doors; it looks like the previous owners never ended up painting them.

Do I have to first sand the door then prime, or can I just get one of those "primer + paint" cans and just start painting the doors?

Also, what would be better to use latex or oil-based paint for the doors?

Thank you!

Are these wood? or masonite doors? Assuming they are pine doors, I'd use an oil base enamel undercoater, sand when dry and then apply a couple of coats of either latex or waterborne enamel. Oil base whites tend to yellow as they age. I would not use a primer paint combo!

I should have added earlier if the doors are dirty from use, those areas will benefit from a light sanding before applying the primer.
