paint or stain bathroom door?

I am putting a plain flat door on the downstairs bathroom. It's a hollow core oak veneer door. What's the best choice to finish it. I could just paint it right now, our should i go ahead and stain it the color of the vanity wood?

With the moisture in a bathroom and in a basement and it being just a cheap veneer hollow core door, I'd prime and paint two coats on all sides.

Depends on the look you want. I'd hate to paint an oak door. If all the other doors are stained, then stain...if painted, then paint.

Stain with a clear topcoat will resist moisture just as well as paint. My doors are all flat and stained.

Make sure to seal all 6 sides, including under the hinges.

Poly or varnish will provide as much protection as primer and paint. The main thing is to coat all 6 sides [with the poly] like Vic said.
