painting aluminum siding
#1
I would like to paint the aluminum siding on my house. Is this possible? What is the preparation, what kind of paint would I use, does it peel, crack or chip quickly. I would appreciate any information you have.

I did this very thing last spring. Rent a power washer less than a week before painting to get rid of all the powder residue. I got one that I did not need any soap or anything, you can see everything come off including any molds or mildew. This is pretty easy. As far as a type of paint, you get what you pay for. Use a latex enamel in a semi gloss. I sprayed it on, but a roller would have worked fine also.
Good Luck

Very good instructions keegan99usa. Be sure to wash any grease or oil off with a detergent or TSP. After waterblasting, lightly sand any bare spots with a 220 grit sandpaper and prime with Sherwin Williams A-100 exterior primer. I would also recomend Sherwin Williams A-100 exterior latex paint, or to go up from there, there Superpaint exterior latex or there Duration exterior latex (Lifetime warranty)
